Springboard Performance is looking to hire a creative intern to video document the 2017 Fluid Movement Arts Festival, running October 18-28, 2017.

With the supervision and support of the Associate Artistic Producer and Fluid Fest Marketing Director, the Intern will capture all Fluid Fest events, including festival lounge cabarets, mainstage performances and other creative happenings.

In addition to archival documentation, the intern will artfully edit engaging 10-40s post opening night video trailers for quick turn around day after marketing promotion of our Fluid Festival shows.

The Intern will also create two 30s trailers of festival cabarets for promotion use next year.

The intern will be responsible for integrating festival graphics and branding, as well as converting and uploading video projects in the appropriate format for distribution across all web and social media channels.

The Intern will also be in charge of archiving all video footage in a timely manner after the festival for future use by the organization. Credit for video use will be listed appropriately.


  • Knowledge and experience using Adobe Creative Suite: Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Illustrator, etc
  • Highly self-motivated
  • Excellent organization and self-management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability collaborate and receive creative direction from Marketing Project Coordinator
  • Ability to create quality work that fits the Springboard Performance brand
  • Passion for filmmaking
  • Creative interest in filming dance.
  • Genuine interest and/or experience in dance and the performing arts
  • Documentary experience preferred, but not required

Some specialized skills required:

  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Knowledge and experience using Adobe Creative Suite: Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Illustrator, etc
  • Film editing experience
  • Videography experience
  • Must be available October 18-28th. Mostly evenings with 2-4 day time events.
  • Asset – Knowledge and experience in live performance videography
  • Asset – Knowledge and experience capturing quality video in low light performance settings.

What we will accomplish at the end of the Internship:

  • The intern will expand their portfolio and gain experience working in the festival context, filming and editing video of the dance and live performing arts.
  • Video document of up to 15 (1-2hr) events
  • Creation and distribution of up to 8 short 20-second trailers with tight deadline
  • Timely distribution of performance footage to Festival artists
  • Video archiving of festival performances and trailer projects.
