The Visual Arts Program in the School of Fine Arts at Grenfell Campus, Memorial University of Newfoundland has restructured its studio curriculum to reflect contemporary art practices that explore the territory beyond conventional boundaries of discipline based focus/practices.
The School of Fine Arts invites applications for the following position, effective January 1, 2018.
Studio: Textile and Fibre Art, and Extended Media: The successful candidate will teach a Textile and Fibre Art course, and an Extended Media course within a BFA (Visual Arts) Degree Program.
The candidate will have an M.F.A. degree or equivalent combination of professional experience, training and education; an exhibition record; undergraduate teaching experience (preferably in related areas); and a familiarity with contemporary approaches. They will have a demonstrated record of research/creative activities. The candidate will also be conversant with the history of fibre arts, its theoretical underpinnings, and contemporary practices. They will have the ability to apply interdisciplinary approaches to instruction, and the commitment to ensure safe studio practices for students.
Lived experience in Indigenous or other non-Western cultural traditions would be considered an asset for any candidate.

All appointments are subject to budgetary approval. Salary will reflect qualifications and experience in accordance with the Collective Agreement governing faculty at Memorial University of Newfoundland.
