Hey everyone! I’m Kayla, your Director of External Relations.
So! Hopefully you’re recovering from mid-terms, unless you made it through unscathed. Make sure to take the time to care for yourself and to seek help when things are getting to be too much to handle.
As Jason Bauche emailed out, there’s a 2 week wait for counselling services on campus, however, through your Studentcare insurance, you have access to Empower Me. Empower Me connects you with a counsellor immediately, via;
Phone call: 1-844-741-6389 for 24/7 Access they can also arrange for an appointment for a counsellor in Calgary within the matter of days, if you prefer, 100% covered by your insurance.
Enter ‘studentcare’ as the password. If you’re looking for immediate counselling, click the “Live Connect Online” button where you’ll be connected to an Instant Message chat.
The Empower me website has a ton of helpful articles to check out.
They also offer other professional services such as; financial planning, life coaching and nutritional counselling.
Phone app: Honestly the app is kind of confusing and doesn’t have the best user interface, but I feel like it’ll be good for resources on the go, and they do have the contact request button where they can arrange an appointment for you.
Here are the app links;
Enter ‘studentcare’ as the login ID.
Anyway! Back to business. Which is to be my advice to you, many students.. Life is short.. YOLO.. School is temporary, keep your eye out for external shows and apply for them, start to navigate the professional artist process and start padding your CV! There are also student run galleries through ACADSA student groups that you can take part in.
Here’s what’s going on our end:
