Are YOU the Next Design Lab Intern?

Do you want to work with like-minded rebels to shift healthcare?

Who We Are
The Design Lab is a group of positive rebels within Alberta Health Services. We use design thinking to help solve wicked and complex problems across the organization. We’re all about changing the culture of healthcare, working quickly and creating solutions with end-users.
What’s in It for You?
Besides the benefits of exercise from the numerous coffee runs, you’ll get to:
• Receive mentorship on becoming an epic social change agent
• Learn about and experience design thinking in a healthcare setting
• Leave your comfort zone (comfortably)
• Co-facilitate a workshop
• Generate AHA moments for clients
• Work out loud. Like, Tweet and stuff.
Your Superpowers
We’re sure you’re a nice person, but here are a few things we’d like to see in our applicants:
• Design thinking mindset (adaptability, creativity, passion, fail fast, “yes, and”)
• Familiarity with various social media platforms (Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn). Evidence of working out loud (you post stuff on your things).
• Well versed in Microsoft Suite and Adobe CC applications (i.e. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
• Experience with Wix (and WordPress).
• Friendliness and likeability, in-person, in writing, and on the socials.
The Work
Though we like to have fun, we expect high caliber performance from our team. Your duties will include:
• Contributing to designing workshops, facilitations, and consultations.
• Digging up and summarizing secondary research on consultation-specific projects, agile ways of working, and design thinking methods.
• Creating and editing content for the Lab (flyers, one-pagers, blogs etc.)
• Sending out stunning tweets, likable Instagram posts and insightful LinkedIn reads.
• Doing some data entry (probably). Creating brief reports (also probably).
